Srinagar: In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, two foreign nationals both from Poland lost their lives in a massive avalanche that hit Hapatkhud Kongdoari in Gulgmarg area of north Kashmir's Baramulla district yesterday. Nineteen other foreign nationals of Russia and Poland along with two local guides were rescued by J&K Police along with Tourism department after they got trapped in the avalanche.

According to the Police, three teams of foreign skiers comprising twenty-one



foreign nationals and two local guides went to Affarwat Gulmarg for skiing and a massive avalanche hit Hapatkhud Kongdoari where these skiing teams got trapped.

On receiving the information, Baramulla police mobilized joint rescue teams of J&K Police along with Army & tourism department who rushed to the spot and started the rescue operation using all available equipment and rescued safely nineteen foreign nationals and two local guides.
