Two Indian nationals hailing from Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka have been abducted in Nigeria. Confirming this MEA spokesperson Vikas Swarup said, the abduction took place last Wednesday in the Benue State of Nigeria.
Both were on the way to their workplace. The employers immediately informed the Governor, Police Commissioner as well as the local head of State
Security Service.
Mr Swarup said, Indian Mission in Abuja is closely coordinating with these agencies and the company and is hopeful of an early resolution to the issue. He said, there is nothing to show that the abductors were from the Boko Haram Group and perhaps local criminal elements are involved. No ransom demand has been received as yet.
