Two terrorists shot dead in Kulgam encounter: J&K police

Srinagar: In Kashmir Valley, three terrorists have been killed in two different encounters with the security forces since last afternoon.

Inspector General of Police, Kashmir, Vijay Kumar said that one terrorist Aamir Riyaz of terror outfit Mujahideen Gazwatul Hind was killed in an encounter with security forces last night. The IGP said that the slain terrorist was assigned to carry out a fidayeen attack in the valley.

Earlier, a police



spokesman said, one more unidentified terrorist was killed in the gunfight in the Chawalgam area of South Kashmir's Kulgam district taking the tally of killed terrorist to two.

The Chawalgam encounter started on Thursday afternoon and during the initial exchange of fire, one terrorist was killed. The police spokesman said that incriminating material including arms and ammunition has been recovered from the encounter site.
