UIDAI clarifies that 1800-300-1947 is not Aadhaar helpline number

Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) yesterday made it clear that 1800-300-1947 is not a valid UIDAI Toll-free helpline number. 

In a statement, the authority said, the valid Toll-free helpline number is 1947 which is functional for more than last two years. 

The UIDAI's clarification comes in the wake of media report on default



inclusion of the authority's outdated and invalid Toll-free number 1800-300-1947 in the contact list of Android phones. 

UIDAI has reiterated that it has not asked or advised anyone including any telecom service providers or Android to include  18003001947 or 1947 in the default list of public service numbers.
