Bengaluru: Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya and Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai inaugurated the NaMo Free Dialysis Centre and unveiled the 100th Janaushadhi Kendra in Bengaluru on Tuesday. The Dialysis centre is set up under the MPLADS fund of Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya at the KSRTC Hospital in Jayanagar in Bengaluru. 

The Janaushadi Kendra is also set up in the premises of this hospital. This is the 100 Janaushadhi in Bengaluru South Lok Sabha constituency represented by Tejasvi Surya. Speaking on the occasion, the Union Health Minister said that Janaushadhi Kendras have helped the poor to



buy medicines at nominal rates. A Cancer medicine priced at 1000 rupees in the open market is available for 200 rupees in Jan Aushadhi Kendras. 

He informed that according to a study conducted by IIM, 15000 people visit such kendras everyday. He called upon youth to come forward to open the Kendra, saying further that a simple procedure is introduced to open such a Kendra. He said quality medicines are supplied to such Kendras and they earn 20 percent commission on every sale. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and Member of Parliament Tejasvi Surya also spoke on the occasion.
