In Maharashtra, Union Minister of Information & Broadcasting and Youth Affairs & Sports, Mr. Anurag Singh Thakur yesterday said that the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra is an example of true democracy wherein the Central Government is reaching out to citizens at their doorstep. He was speaking at an event to flag off the Information, Education and Communication - IEC vans in Mumbai’s Byculla area.
Stating that enrollment for various government schemes has become simpler under the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra campaign, Mr. Thakur informed that more than twelve crore people have already joined the initiative. Hoping that the figure will cross 18 crores by 26th January, Mr.
Thakur said it is probably the first time in independent India that the government is reaching out to people with the message of Viksit Bharat.
The Union Minister said that the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra is going to reach more than two lakh Panchayats and more than four thousand Urban Local Bodies. Emphasising that the government’s mantra is "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas", the minister said efficiency and transparency have been the hallmark of governance under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Mr. Thakur urged citizens to connect through the My Bharat Portal and participate in India’s journey to become a developed nation by 2047.
