Union Minister of Culture and Tourism, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat yesterday inaugurated a special railway coach dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat, New Delhi. On the occasion, the Minister said, Mahatma Gandhi’s life is an inspiration to many and his principle of ahimsa is still relevant in the current geopolitical situation across the world.

Mr. Shekhawat said, the government is following Gandhiji’s Atmanirbhar bharat vision in sectors like defence and technology. He also added that climate

change has become a major problem in recent times due to exploitation of nature. He urged everyone to follow Mahatma Gandhi’s teachings to protect the trees and planet.

The unique Railways coach is donated by the Ministry of Railways. The railway coach is enriched with sculptures depicting Gandhi’s travels and interactions with fellow travellers, providing visitors with an immersive experience that brings alive Mahatma Gandhi’s rail journeys.
