Union Minister for Textiles Giriraj Singh yesterday inaugurated Bharat TEX 2025, India’s largest global textile event, at India Expo Mart in Greater Noida.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Singh said, This is not just an expo, but a big step towards Aatmanirbhar Bharat. He said the confluence of the rich heritage of the Indian textile industry and modern technology will take the nation to new heights on the global stage with the spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.
The minister said Bharat Tex has successfully attracted over six thousand international buyers so far. Mr. Singh highlighted that the textiles industry has a market valued at 176 billion dollars, covering a diverse range of products, from handicrafts to modern goods. He added that the goal is to expand this market to 350 billion dollars.
Union Minister of State for Textiles Pabitra Margherita said that various initiatives are underway to ensure that this year’s edition is greener and more environmentally
friendly.
The second edition of the Bharat Tex is taking place in two venues—at India Expo Mart, Greater Noida, from 12th to 15th of February and at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, from 14th to 17th of this month.
Organised by 11 major textile industry bodies and supported by the Ministry of Textiles, the event promises to be a landmark event showcasing the diversity, scale, and capability of India’s textile sector. The event has attracted over five thousand exhibitors, more than six thousand overseas buyers from 120 countries, and more than 120,000 trade visitors.
Exhibitors will showcase a wide range of products, including apparel, dyes & chemicals, machinery & equipment, home furnishings, technical textiles, handlooms, and handicrafts.
The event will also feature over 70 conference sessions, roundtables, and master classes, with discussions led by nearly 100 international speakers.
