Union Minister of State for Science and Technology Dr Jitendra Singh has emphasized the need for enhanced India-Sweden collaboration in research and innovation among others. Addressing the 11th India-Sweden Innovation Day virtually in New Delhi yesterday, Dr Singh highlighted that India is climbing rapidly on innovation indices. He added that this year in the Global Innovation Index (GII), India ranked 1st among the 10 economies in Central and Southern Asia and 39th among the 133 economies. The
Union Minister also noted that Sweden is one of the global innovation leaders.
Dr. Singh highlighted that Research and Innovation have been the important aspect to flourishing the partnership between these two countries. He further reiterated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of achieving a net zero carbon footprint target by 2070 and called on Sweden for cooperation and collaboration at different levels.
