Union Minority Affairs Minister Mr Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi is on a 2-day visit to Leh. This is his maiden visit to Ladakh after it became a Union Territory. Mr Naqvi  reviewed the implementation of various central schemes with senior officials of the Administration.

Mr Naqvi asked the administration to list out Central schemes that need additional funding. He assured that Ladakh would be provided sufficient funds for development and for the welfare of the people.

Mr Naqvi visited various educational institutions organised by the



minority religious organisations in Leh. He also visited Minority dominant village Chuchot in Leh, to interact with the public and enquire about the implementation of central welfare schemes.

The Minister also laid the foundation stone for the students hostel facility for Imamia Model school in a  suburban village near Leh. Mr Naqvi later interacted with intellectuals to know about the progress made in the region ever since the abrogation of Article 370 and  Ladakh was made a Union Territory.
