Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal will embark on a four-day visit to the United States today at the invitation of U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo. During his visit, the Minister will co-chair the India-USA CEO Forum on 2nd October and the 6th India-USA Commercial Dialogue on 3rd October in Washington D.C. The Commerce and Industry Ministry said that both sides will discuss ways to generate sustainable economic growth, improve the business and investment climate, and deepen ties between the Indian and American business communities during the meetings.
Mr Goyal will also interact with leading American and Indian CEOs and industry leaders to highlight the vast opportunities for investment in India. The Ministry said that his
interactions at a roundtable organized by the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum will emphasize ways to further leverage the complementary strengths and synergies between the economies of India and the USA. Mr Goyal will also chair a Young Business Leaders Roundtable and an India-USA Gems and Jewellery Trade Roundtable. He and Secretary Raimondo will discuss steps to expand and diversify critical minerals supply chains between India and the USA.
The Minister will also meet with Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) Ambassador Katherine Tai in Washington D.C. to discuss ongoing collaboration under the Trade Policy Forum and ways to further enhance two-way trade between the two countries.
