The Minister of State for Food Processing Industries, Jal Shakthi and Jal Jeevan Mission, Prahlad Singh Patel yesterday urged the Kerala government to hasten the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission in the State.
 
Speaking to media persons at the Cochin International Airport this evening, Mr Patel pointed out that while the national average of implementing the scheme stood at 63 percent, Kerala has not even reached 50



percent.
 
Stating that piped drinking water has been made available to 12 crore families across the country so far, he said the scheme is highly beneficial to the common people.
 
The Minister, who is on a visit to Palakkad, will review the Jal Jeevan, Swachch Bharat Mission schemes implemented at Thirumittakode village today. He will also interact with villagers during the visit.
