Kohima: Union Minister of State for Panchayati Raj Kapil Moreshwar Patil is on a two day visit to Nagaland. He arrived in Dimapur yesterday. On his arrival, he called on Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio at his residence at Sovima. Later, the Minister of state inaugurated Thahekhu Village Council Hall cum Multipurpose Building and interacted with the village functionaries at Thahekhu Village in Dimapur.
Speaking at the programme, Patil, acknowledged the community’s contribution as more than the schemes given by the central government. The Union minister asserted that it is the dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make villages better than cities, thereby
fulfilling the dreams of Mahatma Gandhi.
On the Opposition less government in Nagaland under the umbrella of United Democratic Alliance, Patil lauded the legislatures for coming together to work for the betterment and development of the state. He acknowledged the slogan, “peace for development and development for peace”.
The Union Minister also arrived at Raj Bhavan Kohima last evening. Today, the Minister will hold a meeting with political parties, village councils, VDB. He will inaugurate Farmer’s Market at T. Khel Model Village and also visit Kohima war cemetery and Kigwema village.
