Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan yesterday said that despite the rising prices of fertilizer in the international market, the farmers have been provided subsidized fertilizers at affordable cost by the government. He said fertilizer is an essential component for agriculture production, and the government has taken measures to check the price of the fertilizer. He said the Urea bag is being provided to



farmers at 266 rupees per bag.

The Minister said, the farmers’ welfare is in the DNA of this government. He said that record budgetary allocations have been made for the Agriculture sector in this year’s budget. He said that the government has decided to provide climate, high-yielding variety seeds to farmers to minimise the impact of climate change on crops.
