BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar, accused in Unnao gang-rape case, has been taken into custody by the CBI early this morning. He has been brought at the CBI office in Lucknow for interrogation.
Earlier, the Centre accepted the State Government ‘s request to conduct investigations by the CBI into all three cases pertaining to alleged gang rape with a minor girl and custodial death of her father in Unnao district.
The Centre has issued a notification in this regard. All cases have been lodged at Makhi police station in Unnao district.Local BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar, his brother and his other associates are named accused in the cases.

Arvind Kumar has said that the CBI will start its probe today.
On the other hand, the Allahabad High Court is likely to pronounce its order this afternoon on a PIL demanding an independent probe under the court’s supervision in the case.
Advocate General Raghavendra Singh appeared before the Division bench of Chief Justice DB Bhosale and Justice Suneet Kumar and presented arguments.
The court had issued a notice to the government taking sue motu cognisance of the matter on a letter of senior advocate Gopal Chaturvedi.
It has asked Mr. Chaturvedi to appear in the case as amicus curiae.
