Untimely rain play havoc in Telangana

Residents of Telangana were rudely shaken by the extensive damage to houses, transformers and collapsed electric poles after very heavy untimely rain with thunder and lightning lashed several districts in the small hours of Friday.
The Met officials have warned of heavy rain with wind speed touching 100 km continuing for next two days. The weather conditions are likely to change every hour, it said while cautioning both officials and people. 
The rain lashing the State during the last two days caused extensive damage to crop in thousands of acres. Roofs of many houses in several districts were blown off.  Electric poles were uprooted after heavy trees crashed to the ground in high-speed gales, affecting power supply in many villages.
Paddy crop and mango plantations in Kamareddy of Nizambad district were totally damaged. Hoardings and scaffoldings of houses under constructions crashed as wind blew them at several places.



Many animals perished in the heavy rain.
Grains stored in purchase centres in Adilabad district got soaked, causing anxiety to farmers. Nearly 200 trees in Tandur and Kagaznagar crashed and electric poles were uprooted. Several poultry farms were totally damaged.
Low-lying areas in Warangal district were inundated affecting normal life. Grains stored in the Illandu market in Wardhannapet mandal got soaked. Crops suffered extensive inundation. Huge trees in Narsampet, Chennaraopet and Nekkonda areas collapsed.
Paddy crop, mango plantations and vegetables grown in Zaheerabad, Dubbaka, Narayankhed and Gajwel constituencies in Medak district were damaged. Roofs of houses were blown off. 
Residents were severely inconvenienced due to heavy water-logging. Railway track in Valigonda of Nalgonda district was damaged forcing officials to stop the Repalle-Kachiguda passenger, thus averting a threat to passenger.
