The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath has said, Uttar Pradesh has emerged as the growth engine of the nation’s economic development in the last 8 years. He was addressing the media on the completion of the 8 years of his government in the state. The Chief Minister thanked 25 crore people of the state for their support. 

Highlighting government’s achievements, Mr Yogi Adityanath said, UP has taken a huge leap in law and order and Prayagraj’s Mahakumbh is the biggest example of it. He claimed that his government did more in 8 years than what the previous governments did in 22 years. CM Yogi further said that the economy of Uttar Pradesh is the second largest among states in India



and UP is a revenue surplus state today.
 
Chief Minister Yogi said, the agriculture growth rate has increased to more than 13.5 per cent which has led to a 28 per cent increase in the state’s GDP. He said, loans worth 36,000 crore rupees have been were waived. He highlighted that Sugarcane farmers have been paid more than 2.8 lakh crore rupees since 2017. He  informed that from independence till 2017, there were only 12 medical colleges, whereas in 8 years, 80 medical colleges were built, out of which 44 were government and 36 were private medical colleges. CM Yogi said, Uttar Pradesh has claimed first position in Ayushman Bharat scheme.
