UP Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna presented the supplementary budget for the financial year 2024-25 in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly yesterday. The amount of this supplementary budget is 12 thousand 209 crore and 93 rupees lakh which has been bifurcated into capital expenditure of over 7900 crores rupees and revenue expenditure of over 4200 crores rupees. The state’s supplementary budget is 1.66 per cent of this year’s main budget.
The Finance Minister said that in the supplementary budget, over 7500 crore rupees has been allocated for industrial development, 2000 crore rupees for Energy Department, 1000 crore rupees for Transport Department, 600 crore rupees for Urban
Development Department while 200 crore rupees has been given for Uttar Pradesh Skill Development. The supplementary budget will be discussed on Thursday.
During the question hour, Leader of the House and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath replied on the issue of crimes against women in the state. He said that compared to 2016, there has been a decline in dowry and rape cases in UP. CM Yogi said that since 2020, his government has taken forward the campaign of Mission Shakti and inducted about 1.5 lakh police personnel for enhancing women’s safety in Uttar Pradesh. The state is second in the country in terms of solving pending cases related to crimes against women.
