UP Government has denied the report carried by some news channels about the casualties of some children in BRD Medical college Gorakhpur due to lack of oxygen cylinders. The state Government yesterday clarified it in a press release amid the media reports of deaths of children in the medical college. 

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh government has set up a committee to ascertain if any lapse have been in the deaths of children at the medics college. State Health Minister Sidharth Nath Singh has said that 60 children have died since August 7 due to different diseases but not due to lack of oxygen cylinders. 

District Magistrate of Gorakhpur has also initiated a Magisterial Probe



to find exact reasons of children death. The District Magistrate is camping there to look into the matter.

Meanwhile UP Congress has demanded resignation of Health Minister of the state and compensation of 20 lakhs rupees to each kin of children died.Terming the incident as unfortunate, he has held responsible the state government for it. Former Chief Minister and Samajwadi party leader Akhilesh Yadav has also accused the state government of being insensitive towards the incidents. 

In his tweets Mr Yadav has accused the authorities for trying to hush up the incident. He has also demanded compensation to the families of victims.
