Uttar Pradesh government is expanding the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana Ayushman Bharat in the state. State government is mulling over selection of beneficiaries on the basis of national food security act for Ayushman Bharat scheme.
This step will include half of the state's population under the health cover scheme of Ayushman Bharat.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath yesterday had a high-level meeting with the concerned officers on this issue. He also asked officials to augment the process of providing golden cards to every beneficiary who is left under the scheme.
Spokesperson of the government said that after making NFSA
the basis of selection of Ayushman Bharat scheme, the beneficiaries of Antyodaya scheme, eligible householder scheme and other schemes will also become eligible beneficiaries of Ayushman Bharat scheme. This will increase the number of eligible beneficiary families to 3.58 crore under the Ayushman Bharat scheme in the state and about 14 crore beneficiaries will be able to benefit from the scheme.
Currently under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme, the beneficiary is selected on the basis of social, economic, ethnic census-2011. On this basis of selection, 1.18 crore families of the state are eligible for Ayushman Bharat scheme.
