The Budget Session of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly is set to begin with Governor Anandiben Patel’s address on Thursday. With the Opposition parties — the Samajwadi Party, the BSP and the Congress — geared up to corner the Yogi Adityanath government, the session is expected to be turbulent.
The three Opposition parties are likely to raise the issues of law-and-order, corruption, rising prices, irregularities in dealing with the corona crisis, non-payment of sugarcane price and various other farmers’ issues during the Budget Session.
The BSP, the SP and
the Congress are holding separate meetings to fine-tune their political strategy. The BSP MLAs would be holding a meeting at the party headquarters Wednesday evening.
The Congress Legislature Party’s meeting is scheduled for Thursday morning when the Samajwadi Party MLAs would be holding their meeting. The SP MLAs have planned to ride bicycles to reach Vidhan Bhavan in the backdrop of rising fuel prices. Bicycle is their election symbol.
The BJP’s Legislative Council meeting is scheduled for Wednesday evening in the presence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
