The Yogi Adityanath government on Monday presented the first paperless budget in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative assembly. The budget of Rs 5.50 lakh crore for the Financial Year 2021-22 was presented by the state's Finance Minister Suresh Khanna in the presence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

The size of this budget is Rs 37,410 crore more than the previous financial year. This is the fifth budget of the Yogi government of the state.

The focus was also on the development of religious hubs like Ayodhya, Mathura and Kashi for their infrastructural and cultural development. The UP Finance Minister Khanna said that the airport under construction in Ayodhya will be named after Maryada Purushottam Lord Shri Ram. A provision of Rs 101 crore has been made for this.

The Finance Minister said that training of farmers in advanced technology to double the income of farmers by the year 2022 and free water is being provided. "The government has ensured that farmers get a fair price for their produce. He said that the government has paid a record sugarcane value of over Rs 12,3000 crore to the sugarcane farmers. The government has set a target of installing 15,000 solar pumps for farmers", Khanna said.

As it's the last budget of Yogi Adityanath's term,

the state government aims to appease the farmers through the budget.

The opposition on the other hand is mobilising the farmer's agitation against the agricultural law by holding Kisan Panchayat across the state and creating an atmosphere against the government and the BJP. There is a lot of anger against the government among the farmers of western UP.

Addressing the press, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that with the first paperless budget presented today 'our cabinet has also become an e-cabinet from today'.

"The budget is dedicated to overall development of public welfare and targeted for the new reformation of the state. The budget aims at making every house available with water, electricity, road and digital to every village and water to every field and give job to everyone. The imagination of Uttar Pradesh's reformation is also enshrined in the budget. We dedicate it to every segment of society. Ease of living is the motive of the budget", he added.

Talking about the success of the budget, UP Deputy CM Keshav Maurya said that the budget has taken care of everyone and is towards the development of the state with a wider approach. "The schemes and focus on infrastructure, youth, women and farmers can be seen in the budget," he said.
