In Uttar Pradesh, a local court of district Sant Kabir Nagar yesterday sent Minister of State for Food and Civil Supplies, Laxmikant alias Pappu Nishad, to 14-day judicial custody in a case lodged in 2006. Nishad had been facing a non-bailable warrant issued from the court. On Friday, Laxmikant Nishad appeared before the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Sanjay Kumar Gaur but was denied bail.




style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; text-align: justify;">Superintendent of Police, Sant Kabir Nagar, Shailesh Kumar Pandey said that a complaint was filed by one woman Chandmati against Laxmikant in a local court in 2006 on different charges including beating , house trespass and criminal intimidation. The court has fixed Monday 11th July as next date for hearing.
