In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the upper reaches of Kashmir Valley have received a fresh spell of snowfall while incessant rains have been lashing the plains of Kashmir region since last evening.

The places enroute to Amarnath shrine via Pahalgam route like Sheshnag, Panjtarni, and Mahagunus Top also received a fresh spell of snowfall bringing down the temperature considerably in the entire Kashmir division.

Meanwhile,



Srinagar-Leh National Highway, Bandipora-Gurez and Mughal Road, an alternate road-link connecting Kashmir with rest of the country have been closed for vehicular traffic due to snowfall. However, Srinagar-Jammu National Highway (NH-44) is open for vehicular traffic. 

Traffic Authorities have advised people to contact Traffic Control Rooms before embarking on a journey via Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
