Lucknow: In a first-of-its-kind initiative, Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly, is all set to have a day reserved today for women legislators to speak and raise women-centric issues in the House. Ahead of this historic moment Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath wrote a letter to all women legislatures and told them about initiatives taken by government under Mission Shakti scheme. 

It will be a historic day for UP assembly when the whole proceedings of the session will reserve for women members only after the question



hour.

Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana informed the House that a decision to reserve today for women members was taken at the meeting of business advisory committee of the House on September 19. He said that women members would be allowed to speak during Question Hour. Chief minister Yogi Adityanath would also be in the House to listen to the issues that the women members may raise. Minister for parliamentary affairs Suresh Khanna urged the Speaker that the UP assembly’s staff should also be women today.
