Lucknow: The discussion on the Budget continued in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly on Wednesday. Leader of House Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, during the discussion, said that Uttar Pradesh is a revenue surplus State today without imposing any extra tax on the people.
Mr Yogi said that taking inspiration from the Prime Minister, the State is contributing to making India a five trillion economy. He mentioned that today UP is contributing eight per cent to India’s GDP but the State will contribute around 16 per cent in times ahead. Uttar Pradesh will soon become a one trillion economy and the country's leading economy State in the next 05 years, he added.
The Chief Minister said that the size of the Budget of the State has increased more than double in the last six years. In the financial year 2016-17, the Budget was 3.40 lakh crore rupees. Now the size of the Budget for 2023-24 is more than 6.90 lakh crore rupees. He added that 130 promises
were made in the Lok Kalyan Sankalp Patr in 2022 and 110 promises have been fulfilled in this Budget and for that 64 thousand crore rupees have been dedicated.
In replying to Samajwadi Party’s caste-based census demand, Mr Yogi said that they want to deviate from the issue of development. CM Yogi added that Samajwadi Party during their tenure had given One district One Mafia but our government has given One District One Product (ODOP). This scheme has given new life to the MSME and in comparison to 2016-17 today and Uttar Pradesh is exporting double because of ODOP, he added. This scheme promotes the creativity of artisans, mentioned the Chief Minister.
Talking about the credibility of the government, Mr Yogi said that investment proposals worth more than 33.50 lakh crore rupees have come into the State through the Uttar Pradesh Global Investors Summit 2023, this is a symbol of the credibility of the government.
