In Uttarakhand, the mercury has dropped significantly following heavy snowfall in high-altitude regions and rainfall in the plains areas since late last night.

Chardham has experienced heavy snowfall, whereas the upper reaches of Bageshwar, Tehri, Uttarkashi, Chamoli, and Rudraprayag also received heavy snow. As a result, severe cold conditions are prevailing in the

state. Normal life in hilly regions has also been affected due to the heavy snowfall.

The Met Department has predicted that the weather will remain normal in most parts of the state on Friday. The department has also predicted light rain and snowfall in various parts of the state from 3rd to 5th of February.
