Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated a Sewerage Treatment Plant at Haldwani in Nainital district yesterday.
Total cost of the plant is 35 crore 58 lakh rupees. With its commencement, Gola river will be saved from pollution. Chief Minister said that with the commencement of this plant Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of Namami Gange is being realized on the ground.
He said, a scheme has been started to
eliminate the pollution in river Ganga and all other rivers of the state. Mr Dhami said sewerage plants have been installed near 132 big drains carrying severage water to Ganga as well as its tributaries in the state. He said, construction of 11 new sewerage plants is also underway. The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Modi has sanctioned 2200 crore rupees for the development of Haldwani and soon this city will become a smart city.
