Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will hold delegation-level talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Monday.
A number of agreements are also expected to be signed after the delegation-level talks.
Mr Mirziyoyev will also meet President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj.
Uzbek President will be given a Guard of Honour at Rashtrapati Bhawan on Monday after which he will visit Raj Ghat and pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi.
Relations between India and Uzbekistan have traditionally been close and cordial.Since 2011, the two countries have elevated their relations to the level of Strategic Partnership encompassing cooperation in a wide spectrum of areas including political, economic,
education, health, human resource development, defence, counter-terrorism, science and technology, culture and tourism.
This Visit will provide an opportunity to discuss bilateral, regional and multilateral issues of mutual interest and reinforce the strategic partnership which exists between India and Uzbekistan.
India is conceptualising a transport corridor which can be a very important link between Asia and Europe, for which Uzbekistan can serve as a major transit point.
Mr Mirziyoyev arrived in New Delhi on Sunday on a two-day visit to India. He was received at the airport by Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad. He is accompanied by his spouse and a high level delegation.
Earlier on Sunday, Mr Mirziyoyev visited Taj Mahal in Agra.
