Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has reportedly donated a sum of Rs 1.08 Crore to the families of twelve CRPF jawans, who were killed in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district, in a Naxal ambush on March 11.
The actor was reportedly in close touch with Amit Lodha, the DIG of Jaisalmer sector north, in order to extend his help by offering Rs 9 Lacs per family of each martyred jawan.
Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting M Venkaiah Naidu took to Twitter to praise the actor.

Lodha confirmed that the actor has been very involved at a personal level when it comes to the wellbeing of our soldiers and their families.
Akshay himself has been in touch with me and he keeps enquiring about incidents and when I told him about the Sukma incident he immediately told me he would like to contribute and do his bit for the families of the martyred jawans, we are all grateful to him for this kind gesture.
