Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu greets people on Constitution Day

Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu has greeted people on Constitution Day. In a tweet, Mr Naidu said, on this day, in 1949, the conscientious people of India gave themselves this  Constitution prepared under the able guidance of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar.

He said, the Constituent Assembly of independent India, adopted Draft Constitution containing 395 Articles and 8 Schedules, thoroughly debated among 299 members of Constituent Assembly



during its 11 Sessions that were held over a period of 2 years 11 months and 17 days. 

Mr Naidu said it is now the utmost national obligation that people live earnestly by the letter and spirit of the Constitution in their personal and community life. The Vice President said people must uphold integrity in their personal and public life, have trust and honour in constitutional bodies and processes.
