Excitement is mounting in Visakhapatnam as the city prepares to welcome the holy month of Ramzan, expected to begin on either February 28 or March 1, depending on the sighting of the crescent moon.

The anticipation is palpable across the city, manifested most visibly in what locals are calling "haleem fever."

Streets throughout Visakhapatnam are bustling with activity as numerous food stalls prepare to serve the traditional Ramzan delicacy. Haleem, a rich and flavourful stew that combines wheat, lentils, and meat into a thick paste, has become a cultural touchstone, attracting people from diverse backgrounds, including students and even foreign visitors.
