Anantapur: A bench of the Supreme Court on Monday served notices to Devineni Shivashankar Reddy and others following a petition by Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy’s daughter Dr Sunitha seeking cancellation of bail granted by the Telangana High Court to him, who was accused in the murder case of her father. She challenged Shivashankar’s bail plea as he was influencing the witnesses in the case. The hearing was postponed to July 22.

Meanwhile, Dastagiri, the approver in the Vivekananda Reddy’s murder case, lodged a complaint with the State Election Commission against the TD

and APCC chief Y.S. Sharmila and Vivekananda Reddy’s daughter Sunitha alleging that during the election campaign, they were repeatedly making derogatory comments against him in connection with the murder case flouting the ECI guidelines and in the violation of Model Code of Conduct.

He said he was contesting in the MLA elections from the Jai Bheem party from Pulivendula. He pleaded with the State Election Commissioner Meena to instruct the parties and leaders not to make any such comments against him again.
