Patna: In Bihar, voting is underway for the first phase of panchayat elections amidst tight security. Polling, which began at 7 am, will end at 5 pm. Polling is being held in 170 panchayats spread over 10 districts including Gaya, Aurangabad and Munger



today.

For the first time, EVMs are being used in panchayat polls in the state. Bihar State Election Commission has asked authorities to strictly follow Covid protocols during polling. Counting of votes will take place on September 26 and 27.
