The water level in the Yamuna river in Delhi rose to 206.05 metre today with hourly discharge from Hathani Kund Barrage continuing, which forced authorities to evacuate low-lying areas and move nearly 14,000 people to safer places. Officials said, at 8 PM today, the Yamuna was flowing at 206.05 meter at Old Yamuna bridge which has been closed for traffic. The Delhi government's flood control room said the water level is expected to decrease tomorrow.

An 11-year-old girl died and a seven-year-old boy is critical



after they fell in a pond connected to the Yamuna river at Bela village in IP Estate area. A total of 13,915 people have been moved to safer places due to the rising water levels, official said.

Rail traffic over the Old Yamuna Bridge was temporarily suspended today as the water level in the river continued to rise, the northern railways said, adding seven trains were cancelled, 30 short terminated and 32 others diverted because of closure of the bridge.
