In Bihar, the water level of several rivers including Ganga, Bagmati, Burhi Gandak and Kamla Balan river is increasing continuously following incessant rains since 48 hours. These rivers are flowing above the danger mark. Surging water of these rivers is spreading in low lying areas of Patna, Bhojpur, Khagaria and Bhagalpur districts.

Rail and road traffic have also been disrupted in many places due to



torrential rains. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has instructed flood-fighting authorities to be on after 300 mm rains forecast in catchment areas in Nepal in next 72 hours. Jawans of NDRF  and SDRF have been sent in flood-affected areas to meet any eventualities. Met department has also predicted torrential rains in 19 districts including Gopalganj, Purnea, Katihar Buxar.
