The West Bengal government has issued circular to close all primary and secondary schools in the state from today till further orders due to prevailing heat-wave conditions. The Met office has forecast 40 degree Celsius for today and tomorrow for Kolkata and the city’s neighbourhood. City Policemen’s outdoor duty time in Kolkata has been reduced to six
hours from eight and tight uniform norms relaxed to loose mode.
In its forecast for today, the Met office has predicted continued heat wave condition in Kolkata and over Malda, Purulia, Bankura, Birbhum, Burdwan, Murshidabad, Nadia, Howrah, Hooghly, East & West Midnapur districts of West Bengal and parts of Bihar and Jharkhand.
