Union Minister for Women and Child Development Annapurna Devi will visit Ranchi today to attend the closing ceremony of the 7th Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2024. This event celebrates the collective efforts toward a healthier and more nourished India. It recognizes the dedication of all participating states and underscores the vital role of stakeholder collaboration in strengthening grassroots movements through continued Jan Andolans.
The event aims to enhance the participation of beneficiaries and communities through Saksham Anganwadi Centres. An exhibition showcasing aspects of Mission Poshan 2.0 will also be organized by the Government of Jharkhand at the venue. More than 11,000 Saksham Anganwadi Centres located across India will be inaugurated virtually during the Poshan Maah closing ceremony. Saksham Anganwadis
are upgraded and rejuvenated Anganwadis aimed at improving nutrition and Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) delivery. Some special features of the Saksham Anganwadi Centre include improved infrastructure, LED screens, and a water filtration system for clean drinking water.
The 7th Rashtriya Poshan Maah organized this month focuses on anaemia, growth monitoring, complementary feeding, and Poshan Bhi, Padhai Bhi, along with the use of technology for better governance. The month-long campaign also emphasizes environmental sustainability through the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative, which encouraged plantation across all Anganwadi centres. Around 12 crore activities have been conducted during this Poshan Maah by states and Union Territories so far.
