The Gujarat government has decided to impose a complete curfew during the weekend from 9 pm today in Ahmedabad. However, the night curfew will remain in force from Monday onwards until further orders. The decision has been taken to curb the rising number of Covid-19 cases in recent days.
 
The weekend curfew will remain in force from 9 pm today to 6 am on Monday in Ahmedabad. While, 9 pm to 6 am curfew will continue from Monday onwards till further notice.
 
Essential services like medical stores and milk parlours will remain open during the curfew period. Government has also announced a series of steps following the recent spike in COVID19 cases. 

According to official sources, 400 additional beds have been made



available in cancer hospital and  kidney hospital of Asarwa civil campus in Ahmedabad. While 400 additional beds have been made available at Sola civil hospital.
 
There are plans to make arrangements for 100 additional beds at Gandhinagar civil hospital for the areas like Sabarmati, Chandkheda and Motera.
 
Apart from these, additional 400 beds have been made available in private hospitals of Ahmedabad city. According to official sources, 20 additional ambulances have been added to present 20 ambulances of 108 emergency services for covid patients. 

Additional 300 doctors and 300 medical students have been allotted to Ahmedabad city by the State government.
