West Bengal: By-poll in Bhabanipur to be held today

Kolkata: In West Bengal, all arrangements are in place for the by-poll in Bhabanipur and polling in Shamshergunj and Jangipur assembly Constituencies tomorrow. Heavy security arrangements are in place to keep the polling process free, fair and peaceful.

 

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is the candidate for Trinamool Congress in the by-election to Bhowanipore seat in south Kolkata while BJP has given ticket to Priyanka Tibrewal and Marxist Communist Party (CPI) has fielded Srijeev



Vishwas.

 

Mamata Banerjee contested from the Bhabanipur assembly seat in 2011 and 2016 before moving to Nandigram for the 2021 West Bengal Assembly election. She lost the election to Suvendu Adhikari of BJP.

       

In view of the bad weather condition, special arrangements have been made to conduct the poll smoothly.There will also be a pick and drop facility for voters in case they are stuck due to rain.
