West Bengal Government has announced strict lockdown in Containment zones of the State in view of rapid increase of COVID cases. The lockdown will start at 5 PM tomorrow. According to the notification issued all Government and Private offices, all non essential activities, public gathering, movements of Transport, markets, trading and industrial activities will be closed in containment zones during lockdown. Residents of Containment zones will get exemptions from
attending Government and Private offices.
The local authorities will arrange home delivery of essential items for the residents staying inside the containment zones. The list of Containment zones will be announced this afternoon. The local administration will decide the period of lockdown. Meanwhile, 850 fresh COVID cases and another 25 deaths were recorded in the State in last 24 hours.
