After BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari raised objection over Mamata Banerjee's nomination for the upcoming West Bengal assembly election, the saffron party has formally submitted a complaint to state's chief electoral officer over “false affidavit” filed by the TMC supremo who is pitted against her former aide from Nandigram constituency.

Suvendu Adhikari, a former TMC heavyweight, had joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in December last year.

Adhikari has been pitted against CM Mamata Banerjee from Nandigram in the

upcoming West Bengal assembly elections.

Adhikari switched over to the BJP in December and is up against the chief minister who decided to challenge him at his home ground.

BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari raised objections over TMC chief Mamata Banerjee's nomination from the Nandigram constituency saying that Mamata Banerjee submitted the affidavit without mentioning six criminal cases against her.

"I have filed a complaint in this regard with the Election Commission (EC)," Suvendu Adhikari told reporters on Monday.
