The government of West Bengal has decided to set up five new POCSO fast-track special courts in West Bengal. There are already 62 POCSO courts in the state in addition to the six e-POCSO courts. Yesterday, Minister of State (Independent Charge) Chandrima Bhattacharya announced the decision at a press conference.

Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act



2012 POCSO ensures speedy justice in sexual offences against children. The minister today informed that a proposal had come earlier from the judicial department before the state cabinet. Today the state cabinet has approved the proposal. Now there will be 67 POCSO fast-track courts in West Bengal as well as 6 e-POCSO courts.
