The counting of votes has begun for Panchayat elections in West Bengal.The polling on Monday witnessed unprecedented violence which claimed 12 lives and injured more than 40 others. 

Repolling was held at 572 booths



yesterday following the widespread violence and disruption of polling. 

Three-tier security arrangements have been made to ensure peaceful counting across the state.
