In the wake of foiling of twin infiltration bids of armed militants, the chief of Army's Western Command visited troops along the border in Jammu region and reviewed the security situation along border belts.
A defence spokesman said, Lt Gen K J Singh yesterday visited the troops engaged in the security of border area in Jammu, Samba and Kathua. He took a
stock of the security arrangements in the sensitive areas and complimented the troops in successfully maintaining a high state of vigil against enemy designs, braving the odds of terrain and weather.
BSF jawans had foiled two consecutive infiltration bids along the International Border (IB) in Kathua and Samba districts of Jammu and Kashmir since July 9.
