Union Minister for Environment and Forests Prakash Javdekar inaugurated the world’s maiden white tiger safari at Mukundpur in Satna district on Sunday.
Addressing a programme organised to mark the occasion, Mr Javadekar said around 75 per cent of tigers in the world, which
stood at about 2,500, lived in India alone.
The White Tiger safari spread over 25 hectares, and is home to three white tigers including one male, two females and two Royal Bengal tigers. The safari will house nine white tigers in the coming months.
