Rashtriya Janata Dal president Lalu Prasad on Tuesday vowed to fight the fascist and communal forces tooth and nail. In a tweet soon after the Income Tax department sleuths raided his residence in New Delhi and Gurugram, Lalu tweeted, "I will not bow down. I will fight fascists till my last breath."

While no Income Tax raids took place in Patna or any of the residences of RJD chief's family in Bihar, the official residence of Rabri Devi - 10, Circular Road, where Lalu stays with his two sons (both ministers), remained out of bounds for the mediamen.

As RJD MPs, MLAs and former legislators rushed in there to express solidarity with their leader, Lalu took to social media to respond. "BJP ko naya alliance partners mubarak ho. (Congrats to BJP on its new alliance partners)," tweeted Lalu and continued that the "BJP-backed media should also tell which are the 22 places where the Income Tax sleuths have raided my house."

Asking the media and the BJP not to jump to the conclusion over his message "Congrats to BJP on its new alliance partners," the RJD leaders clarified that it does not mean

BJP will get JD (U) as the new ally.

"What Lalu ji meant was the BJP has got new alliance partners like Income Tax and the CBI," clarified RJD national spokesperson Manoj Jha, adding that there was no threat to the Nitish Kumar-led Bihar government.

Lalu's tweet came soon after BJP leader Sushil Modi alleged on Tuesday that Lalu's daughter Misa Bharti, who is also a Rajya Sabha member and has been in the eye of storm over alleged land deals in Delhi, had purchased industrialist Vivek Nagpal's company KHK Holding Pvt Ltd for just Rs 1 lakh. "Out of 10,000 shares, Misa held 9900 shares while her husband Shailesh Kumar had the remaining 100 shares of the company," alleged Modi.

"Lalu is not going to be cowed down by such baseless allegations. Whatever property we have, is already in public domain and shown in the Income Tax return," an RJD leader quoted Lalu as having told his supporters.

"Beware egoist and fascist BJP leaders! Before threatening Lalu, look at ur face in mirror. There are millions of thousands of Lalus in Bihar," said Lalu's another tweet.
