The winter session of Maharashtra assembly will begin today in Nagpur. This will be the first session of the newly elected Maha Vikas Aghadi government under the leadership of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackrey.
Proceedings of legislative assembly will start with resolution by the speaker today while legislative Council will pass the resolution of congratulation to Justice Sharad Bobde on his elevation to Chief
Justice of India. As informed by the Business Advisory Committee, winter session will not have a question hour and the session will end on 21 December. The five days of the session however are likely to become stormy under opposition led by the senior BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis over the issues like farmers financial assistance, review of the development projects and other several issues in the state.
