The winter session of Uttar Pradesh State Legislature will begin today. The supplementary demands for the current financial year will be presented on December 18 in both the houses of the legislature. The government has also announced to bring UP Control of Organised Crime Act bill (UPCOCA) during the session. It was passed by the State Cabinet
yesterday.
About seven ordinances including Prayagraj Mela Authority ordinance will also be passed during the session. Opposition parties have said that they will corner the government over the recent hike in electricity tariff, the law and order situation and alleged anomalies in the disbursement of loan waiver certificates to farmers.
