Prime Minister Narendra Modi exhorted students appearing for their board examinations to write their papers "with a smile and lots of confidence," extending his his best wishes to them.

Board examinations for Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) students began on Monday.

Over 28 lakh students of Classes X and XII have registered for the



examinations.

"Best of luck to all my young friends appearing for the CBSE Class XII and Class X examinations! Write these exams with a smile and lots of confidence," Modi tweeted.

The prime minister's remarks came days after he gave a pep talk to school and college students on handling examination stress, offering his friendship to lakhs of youngsters, who would turn 18 and become eligible to vote from this year.
